Online Security
Security and the Online Sales Process - Why buying from us is safe!

If this is a secure process, why don't the main www.hollowaybar.com web site and the store site store.hollowaybar.com show up as secure servers in my web browser?

No personal information is collected during your shopping trip to the Holloway Bar Productions web site and online store.  Secure transmission is not necessary for our main website containing details of our various products and adventures, and is not used there. This keeps our site faster and your shopping experience more enjoyable. It also ensures that any updates made to the main website will not negatively impact any of the security features used in the online store.

We use industry-standard technology to encrypt your personal and financial information in the appropriate parts of our online store. The shopping cart and checkout system are protected using  digital encryption (128-bit Secure Socket Layer) provided in conjunction with your web browser to allow you to enter the information on your computer and have it transmitted directly to our payment processor. Your personal and credit card information is never stored on the hollowaybar.com Web site or online store - in fact, we never see your credit card information.  This information is processed totally on the secure web site of our credit card processor, InternetSecure.

How do I know the InternetSecure payment processor is secure?

InternetSecure specializes in eCommerce and online transactions.  By utilizing their services and expertise, Holloway Bar Productions has taken a number of steps to protect your valuable information.

InternetSecure is one of only two companies in Canada to be certified Level III under Visa AIS (Account Information Security System), which ensures that the security of your customers' personal information is maintained at all times.

Customer Identity Verification     Possession of a valid credit card at the time the purchase is completed is determined by having the customer supply the Visa CVV2, MasterCard CVC2, or Amex CID, which is a 3 or 4 digit value that appears on the signature stripe on the back of credit cards. A second security test is the Address Verification Service, which compares the customer's billing address is compared to the address which their bank has on file. Any discrepancies will cause the transaction to be rejected, which will ultimately protect customers from possible fraudulent transactions.

Secure Servers     InternetSecure employs redundant Servers using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption for the secure exchange of data between your customers and the InternetSecure Payment Engine. The system supports both 40bit and 128bit SSL encryption on virtually all browsers. The InternetSecure transaction system resides behind a dedicated Firewall running on redundant servers utilizing co-location facilities. This protects the InternetSecure transaction system and the data passing through.

No Transmitted Credit Card Numbers     The nature of the InternetSecure system means that there are no credit card numbers ever transmitted in an 'unencrypted form' and that no credit card information is EVER stored on the hollowaybar.com web site. Only InternetSecure receives this information. This removes any concerns regarding the security of credit card numbers after the transaction.

Private Processing Network     Once InternetSecure receives all required information from the customer, the transaction is processed with the banks over private digital lines, not back out over the Internet. These methods combine the best of traditional electronic transaction security, the most sophisticated TCP/IP network and Internet web security, and a customized extended security and risk management suite built on our experience. No other real time Internet processing system offers our levels of consumer and merchant comfort.

Verified by Visa TM and MasterCard SecureCode TM  Holloway Bar Productions uses the Verified by VISA TM and MasterCard SecureCode TM to protect your online transactions.  Both of these global e-commerce solutions enable cardholders to authenticate themselves to their card issuer through the use of a unique personal code.  During the final checkout processes, cardholders whose banks subscribe to these services will be presented with an additional window hosted by the card issuer.  If a Verified by VISA TM or MasterCard SecureCode TM password has already been established in a prior transaction, that password must be entered for the transaction to complete.  If customers holding a participating card have not yet established a password, they will be guided through several simple steps to establish their password.  NOTE - This process is hosted by your bank - not by Holloway Bar Productions!

Cardholders enjoy peace of mind knowing that no one else has access to their Verified by VISA TM or MasterCard SecureCode TM password (it is not recorded on any cardholder statements nor are they visible on the plastic card.)

How can I tell when I am in secure mode?

There are several ways to determine if you are in secure mode or not. If you look at the website address in your browser window, you will see that our main site is at 'http://www.hollowaybar.com'. All non-secure sections of the website will start with 'http:'. When you checkout from the online store, you are taken to a secure area to enter all of your personal information.  You'll notice that the website address now starts with 'https:' The 's' stands for secure. Most web browsers also have a visual symbol that appears when you access a secure site. This may show up as a little 'locked padlock', usually on the bottom of your Web browser screen. When you move in and out of secure areas on our Web site, your browser may show you a notification window, and you must click "continue" or "OK." These windows are not warnings, only notices to let you know where you are.

What if an unauthorized purchase does occur?

In the unlikely event that your credit card is fraudulently used without your authorization on our online store, Holloway Bar Productions will work with you and do whatever we can to help you resolve the situation. You should remember, though, that if unauthorized use of your credit or debit card does occur, it is your responsibility to notify your card provider as stated in your agreement with them. Check your credit card agreement for more information.

Through our use of encryption technology and by dealing with only online security professionals who abide by stringent security guidelines, we hope to bring you an easy-to-use, but highly secure online shopping experience.
