The size of the tailings pile really gets your attention as you get closer to the old Cassiar townsite.

Looking at someone (in this case me, Al Sande) standing in front of the tailings pile gives you an idea of the size of this mountain of material.

The tailings pile quickly greens up when given a chance.  The road snaking up the "town end" of the pile gives another idea of its immense size.
