Released on July 25, 2010, A Gold Miner's Dream: The Holloway Bar Story has been in the works for many years now. Back in the mid-1990's, Scott and Christina had the vision to document the building of "The Wizard" gold plant and the first year's mining operation on Holloway Bar, as well as some of the prior year's prospecting around McDame Creek. A half-dozen years later Al got involved with the video end of things and created the first "long version" of the project. Earlier this summer, Scott and Al sat down and decided to finish the video and created a rough version of the story. The Summer 2010 portion of the video was filmed in June 2010 and the next six weeks were spent fine tuning the rough cuts to create this finished video.
This isn't your standard "Youtube Video" with a couple of minutes of random shots, but at over 54 minutes in length is more of a documentary and resource for those who have always wondered what it takes to make a gold mine. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it!
This is a great fill-in for anyone waiting for next season's "Gold Rush: Alaska" in the Klondike - but this one was filmed "as it happened on Holloway Bar"...
